2018: It's Your Thing, Do What You Wanna Do
It's almost 2018, folks! It's gonna be a good one. I can feel it. I have quite a few gigs lined up, two shows, and a consistent work schedule!
I've got a few resolutions for the year. Now, in the past, my resolutions weren't personal. Looking back, those lists were comprised of the things I felt obligated to do, not what I wanted to do.
So I didn't make a "to-do" list.
I made a "WANT-to-do" list.
I want to travel. I'm taking a long-overdue vacation this February onboard a cruise ship- the same line I performed with for nearly two years! Hopefully I can finagle my way to a discount at the spa with my prior work experience.
I want to take dance classes! Fouettés in the kitchen just don't cut it, guys. Especially when your apartment is barely 450 square feet.
I want a bigger apartment! (see "fouettés in the kitchen")
I want to book and STAY booked, doing work I find dignifying and powerful, authentic and important. My biggest goal is to find out how to do this. Sometimes, ya gotta say yes to things that scare you, and no to the things that will just waste your time. I want to streamline my energy output. I want to focus on my focus (Thanks Beyonce') and actually DO all of these things.
What are some of your resolutions, fellow friends in the industry?
